Vanner Memorial

While at the Council of Councils meeting Judith brought up the Vanners Memorial. As most of you know it is at the Vanning Museum because it just got too big to carry around.

Judith make a proposal that we have a VANNING MEMORIAL BANNER which would be much easier to move and manage.

Just how would it work?

Vanners would send in Memorial patches and they would be attached to the banner and displayed at Council of Council and Nationals. So if you want this to work search through your things and send Judith your memorial patches and she’ll get this rolling.

You can mail the patches to Judith from now till mid-April or see her at a truck-in this summer. She’ll be at Spring Back, Spring Fever, Mid-West, Van Fest, Vans across America and of course Nationals. If you want to mail them to her after she leaves FL, contact her and she’ll give you an address.

Please share this with your friends and lets see what we can get going.

PS is anyone has and extra Dave Pilon patch Judith could use one.

the nats have NOT been cancelled.

Vanning.com had posted an event for the nats on their Facebook page as has been done the past few years, but was later asked to delete it because the host club wanted to handle it themselves.

when the event was deleted from the page, it sent out email to everyone saying it was cancelled.

THE NATS ARE NOT CANCELLED!

The only thing cancelled was the event listing on facebook, the nats are still on, and as always, you can check Van-Nationals.com for the latest information and upates.

there is also an official thread on Vanning.com

Sorry for any confusion.

A quick update from our CofC meeting.

One of the things we discussed at Council of Councils in Denver was the need for an updated Vanner AID list and an easier way for folks to add to the mobile Vanner Memorial.

to that end, we have a couple of new links for you.

First, if you want to participate in the "Vanner AID" program, please follow this link;

http://goo.gl/forms/tU8kvqvXUO

Vanner AID is whatever you can offer to fellow vanners that are travelling in your area.. from a place to camp out for a night or two, to garage use if they break down, or just a ride, etc.
The information you provide will be made available "publicly".. it will be here, and on Vanning.com, etc, so that vanners can locate it when they need help.
Even if you have added your name to this list before, please do so again, as we are scrapping the old list completely, as it is very out of date.

The mobile Vanner Memorial is a computerized display that we take to the Nats and CofC that displays information about fallen vanners, we needed an easier way for you to get that information to us in a format we can use, so again, new form..

http://goo.gl/forms/eHxm9haFbo

The results of this form will go to the nats board for use in updating the mobile memorial.
The more info you provide, the better, tell a story, give as much detail as you can.  If you have added someone before, go ahead and add them again just to be sure we have accurate information.

moving!

after a little bit of re-coding, I managed to completely re-do the members page and transfer it here to the blog, it will be so much easier to maintain now.  I have also started recreating the "nats to date" page, though the links on it are still not working, that's the next step.

I added links to the VANNER list (emergency assistance for vanners on the road) and a couple of the nats resource files.  The goal is to get everything from the nats board website transferred here and stop paying every month for what we can do here for free.

 stay tuned!

updating

There hasn't been a lot of activity on this page for a while, but we are going to start using it more, and will be migrating the national turickin board page from it's current static website to this, so that we can update it easier while on the road. stay tuned!
