The 41st Nationals is now history. It was a huge success with over 650 vans from all over the country, and the world, attending.
Here are a few of the pictures we were able to take.
There were a lot of goodie bag donations.
The bags took several hours and a lot of help to put together
This is your host group!  What a motley crew
Head Quarters on opening day
And V O T R  printing event shirts
There were kids activities every day
The N.U.T.S. bus kept hauling people around all weekend. A big thank you to Vans On The Run.
The adult games were a hoot !

Porta johns being placed..Everyone needs a place to go.   LOL
Opening  ceremony!!  lets go!

NUTS BUS AGAIN!

Several shots of the green panel from Colorado.  more later

The public show was well attended on Saturday.  We opened it for the public and collected food for the food bank as admission
The bad news is that it rained EVERY DAY.   On wed. there was a bad storm with 80mph winds that took out nearly every tarp cover in the place. Tis was one of the lucky ones
Show field on Friday for judging.  141 vans competed for the awards
Wed. evening was the Nats Board meet and greet.  The free wieners went fast LOL
Flying pigs. Need I say more?
Gathering for the opening ceremony
This panel made National truck-in history.
Mothers was a major sponsor, and gave us tons of giveaways!
Jeff Cindy Lou Hyde won the Flying Eagle award and Best in Show with that beautiful panel truck.  The first ever panel Best of show and the first to win both awards

Every t-shirt from the 1st nats to the 40th!
Main gate prior to the Nats beginning
There was a swap meet for van stuff on Thursday.  this has been very popular of late.
We collected for the local food bank. A truck load of food and $500.
There was a contest for the kids to collect can tabs. The winner Aidan, turned in 48.17 lbs.  Second place, Delancy, was 42.5 lbs   GREAT JOB!!   Here we are delivering 186 pounds of tabs to Ronald McDonald house..  That's over 223,000 cans of something....
There were 660 vans in attendance this year.
Here is some food for thought.  The 39th Nats were held at these same grounds 2 years ago.  There were 614 vans at that Nats.  That was an increase in attendance over the last Ohio Nationals held in 2007.  Both were the first time in 30 years that there was an increase in attendance over previous Nats held in the same state.   Also the highest attendance recorded in the last 10 years. Also the only time the Nats has been at the same site only 2 years apart.  Seems like the Vanners like this site.  Next years Nationals will be back in New York.  See you all there!!

We have made arrangements with the local high school GIRLS basketball team to do a van wash on Thursday from 10:30 till at least 2 pm. all proceeds going to support their school team. They will also be helping us recycle aluminum by putting out special receptacles for the cans.  Please help to separate them so we won't destroy the planet.

We will be having a bus traversing the grounds in a regular route and schedule, to take you to and from your camp.  There will be 13 stops strategically placed around the grounds,  making it easy to get around.  It will run from 10 am till after midnight Wed. thru Sat night.
We will also be running ice delivery following the same route as the bus to bring the Ice to you. We will be selling a large and small bag for your convenience.
We will have a low watt FM radio station working during the Nationals. It will be playing music and making announcements all weekend. Bring your FM radios, boom boxes. or any radio so you can hear everything happening at this years National truck-in.

NAVIGATING THE BLOG

Seems there are some who are having problems finding info on our blog. So here are some quick pointers.
Most pertinent info is in the flyer. You'll find the flyer down the page on the left side. If it is to small to read, click on the image and it will expand to full screen. You can also blow it up bigger if you wish. Information not available at the time we printed the flyer, will be added periodically here on the left side in a new post. Questions that we are asked repeatedly will be posted in the FAQ section on the right side of the blog and contact info is also listed in the right hand column.
The top of the right column is a pages section. Directions, trophy sponsorship, bible adds, porta john rental etc. are listed there. Click on the page you want to see and it will open on the left side. Click the back button, and the regular post will return. Down the column is other info mostly activities scheduled during the event. The pages column has pre entry info. There is a printable pre-reg form. If you wish to pre enter, print it out and send it to the address listed there. When your pre-entry is received,it will be listed on that page.  When the Nats gets closer you will receive a comfirmation to use at the gate to get in quickly.
You can ask questions, make constructive suggestions ,or comments, 2 ways. At the bottom of each post, on the left side there is a place for comments. Click on it and you can leave a question or comment that will be seen by anyone who wishes to read the comment section. We will post an answer or response there also, where everyone will see it. At the bottom of the right column you will find contact info for the Nats Board & event chairpersons.  You can send a question or comment there and it will be private. Some one will get a response back to you as soon as we can.
As the posts pile up they will expand to multiple pages. You can find the older posts at the bottom by clicking on the "older posts" icon.
Even tho we have been working on this for nearly a year, the 41st Nats is not finished and in the can. We are way ahead of where we thought we would be but, are still working on a lot of large and small details. Every day someone comes up with a new idea for making this event even more fun. Our members are working hard and enjoying all the preparations. That's how we know this will be a fun event for everyone.
We will be available at the upcoming council meeting. If you are attending  stop by and see us.  Thanks...  your Nationals Board

IT'S FINALLY 13!

With the new year comes a building excitement for the next National Truck-in.  We have been working behind the scenes, nailing down all the boring stuff. You know, contracts  with suppliers and services. Most everything is in place at this point.  Our entertainment committee has finalized the entertainment for the Nats and I will have details on what may be the best music and stage show yet .  We are still looking for clubs that want to host a casino game in their camp for wed. night.  This should be a lot of fun.  Something different and it is designed  to get you out to socialize with the other vanners.

You may have noticed on the flyer that we will be operating a low watt radio station during the entire event. We are using this as an inprovement on the  public address system.  When you are in your camp it is hard to hear speakers on poles especially if you are listening to music in your  camp  or the camp next to you.
We will be playing classic rock music and taking requests 24hrs  a day  from Monday till sat night.   Our announcers will be making announcements over the radio as well as playing tunes & keeping you informed of everything going on at the Nationals.  We are also working on a simulcast of the stage shows, so you won't miss anything , SO...
bring your boom boxes, radios, home stereos and of course your van sound systems and keep them on 104.1 FM , WVAN RADIO!

Also  we now have the details for anyone wishing to rent a private porta pot for the week.  We have negotiated with the same man that did the johns for the 39th. He did an excellent job of maintaining them and was prompt and reliable.  He has given us a very reasonable price of $100 per unit for the week
starting Monday of Nats week. This includes daily cleaning and stocking. If you wish to acquire one of these units please get your reservations in early.  We must know a final count by the first of June. Check the pages column on the right for details!
